What are 3G-AQUA Plus and how do they work?

3G-AQUA Plus are high-purity, noble and semi-noble metals-based alloys that treat water through a process based upon the principle of redox (Oxidation-Reduction).

We can explain redox like this: SARKAR International unique combination of noble and semi-noble metals creates an electro-chemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new elements are created. Some harmful contaminants are changed into harmless components. Free chlorine, for instance, is changed into benign, water-soluble chloride, which is then carried harmlessly through the water supply. Similarly, some heavy metals such as copper, lead, mercury and others, react to plate out onto the medium’s surface, thus being effectively removed from the water supply.

3G-AQUA Plus eliminates the need for any chemicals. “Basically, with the reaction of the 3G-AQUA Plus, we are able to modify the crystal structure of the scale compound (calcium carbonate), changing it from calcite to aragonite,”

In other words: If you've a problem with moderated ''hard water'', the 3G-Aqua plus will soften your water, although it is not a water softener. It will change the molecular shape of the Calcium crystal so that the calcium will be unable to adhere to a surface and will flow through in the water stream. In this way no scaling should occur and the water will behave like soft water.

We know of no systems, other than the 3G-Aqua Plus, that will soften water without the need for salt or some salt-based regenerative material. The 3G-Aqua Plus systems will soften the water without the need for salt.

Where are 3G-AQUA Plus used?

3G-AQUA Plus are used in a variety of pretreatment, primary treatment, and wastewater applications. They are generally used in place of, or in conjunction with, granular activated carbon filters, even carbon block or inline filters. 3G-AQUA Plus extend the life of granular activated carbon (GAC) while protecting the carbon bed against fouling by bacterial growth.

Our Media are also used to replace silver-impregnated systems. Silver is toxic, 3G-AQUA Plus is not. Silver must be registered with the EPA as a toxic pesticide, 3G-AQUA Plus do not. By the way, silver is more expensive than 3G-AQUA Plus.

What about 3G-AQUA Plus and RO, DI and IX systems?

Reverse Osmosis (RO), Deionization (DI) and Ion Exchange (IX) systems benefit from the use of 3G-AQUA Plus because our Media allow these systems to tend to their strengths. Our Media protect RO systems from chlorine degradation and bacterial contamination, extending the life of the systems’ membranes. 3G-AQUA Plus protect expensive IX systems from becoming fouled with chlorine, algae, fungi and bacteria. Less fouling, longer life and reduced maintenance, all combine for lower costs.

How many 3G-AQUA Plus are available?

SARKAR International. Manufactures high-purity, noble and semi-noble metals-based alloys media: 3G-AQUA Plus.

3G-AQUA Plus was designed specifically for removing or reducing chlorine and water-soluble heavy metals. It controls scale, bacteria and algae, even in hot water.

3G-AQUA Plus removes or reduces iron and hydrogen sulfide from municipal or other water supplies. Also controls scale, bacteria and algae.

3G-AQUA Plus was designed to remove chlorine and control bacteria when incorporated into carbon blocks as well as into other matrix-type filters.

3G-AQUA Plus are used for removal or reduction of soluble heavy metals and chlorine. For use when less pressure drop is required.
3G-AQUA Plus can remove up to 99% of water-soluble lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals. All 3G-AQUA Plus forms are effective in controlling the buildup of bacteria, algae, fungi and scale, making them ideal for use in GAC beds, ion exchange resins, carbon block filters and inline carbon filters. Wherever our Media are used, they can eliminate the need for costly, and sometimes harmful, chemical treatments.

How the Media Works

“3G-AQUA Plus is a combination of noble and semi-noble metals. The Metal is given off over time and is the key to the system. It modifies the scale, and a very thin coating of it ends up on the pipe walls (plastic or metal), which serves as a corrosion inhibitor,”. “It also raises the pH level of the water system to one that is not conducive to corrosion. It actually gives off a low-voltage current because of the reaction of the copper, zinc, and water and develops an electrical field that kills algae.

“It eliminates virtually all chemical treatments. Most of the other systems out there do part of the job, but not all of it. But we have to have several different devices to take care of corrosion inhibiting, scale removal, and biological treatment.

“By eliminating chemicals, companies can free up storage space, and not have to worry about health and safety issues relating to using harsh chemicals. So our system has a lot of advantages.”
